First login & your setup token

The first time you open Workbench on a new Professional Cloud (AWS Marketplace) deployment, it asks for a one-time setup token. Here is how to get it and sign in — in under a minute.

1. Get your setup token

There is no default password. Run this one command against your deployment — it reads the token Workbench printed to its log on first start:

kubectl -n elevarq logs deploy/elevarq-elevarq-unified | grep "first-run setup token"

It prints the line Workbench first-run setup token (enter on the bootstrap screen): <token>. The guided installer also prints the Workbench URL and this token when it finishes, so on a fresh install you usually already have it.

2. Open Workbench and create your administrator

  1. Open your Workbench URL over HTTPS (the session cookie is Secure, so a plain-HTTP front loops silently on the login page).
  2. On the first-run bootstrap screen, paste the setup token.
  3. Set your administrator email and a strong password, and create the account.
  4. That is it — from now on you sign in normally. The setup token is gone and the first-run screen no longer appears.

Good to know

  • The token is single-use and held in memory. It is consumed when the first administrator is created, and a pod restart before that admin exists mints a new one — just re-run the command to read the current token.
  • It is not a Kubernetes Secret; it lives only in the pod log. Treat it as a credential — do not share it in tickets, screenshots, or shell history beyond the one time you need it to log in.
  • AWS Marketplace Cloud deployments are entitled centrally, so you go straight from setup token to administrator — no license or activation step.
